Operating System Unknown

I've got a number of machines reporting back as operating system unknown (I know this are windows xp x86 machines) . Really interesting because the clients have an amp connection. It says no network interfaces, but I can remote out to them through the web kace interface. Anyone have a guess at what could be wrong? It is reporting the installed software, but patching fails on these machines reporting (Platform not supported or subscribed). I look under OS version and it just says Number: 5.1.2600.0, Architecture: x86.

is the inventory.xml generated with this data? If not try rebuilding the WMI database.

That was exactly it. I can remotely stop WMI, renamed the repository folder to _old and then restart WMI and force inventory update.... Kinda a pain to go through 70 of them, but totally worth it :)

Just do it with a script and you're off to the races. Yeah?

I tried a batch file, but I can't ever get them to report back. Maybe I'll tinker with it some more when I get the time :)
