reg deploying softwares from network folder

Hi ,

I would like to deploy software from Network folder  in K1000?

anyone tried this before?

in theory there should be no issues with that, but, something has been mentioned maybe twice in a few forums, if the install account is a system acc, it will not have (default) access to a network share.

Badger is correct. The KACE service runs as system so it doesn't have access to network shares unless you mount them. Theoretically you could have all of your installation scripts mount the share first and then run the installation commands.

use a batch file to deploy with a net use command to map the drive then the system can reach those files needed.

There is functionality for this built into managed installations.  It's called alternate download locations.

Otherwise, you could use an online kscript that runs as a user that has network access and use the methods mentioned above.
