SCCM 2007 R3/IIS 7.5 - Fallback Status Point

Hi Guys,
Need a little advice on what seems to be a 'simple' problem that is unfortunately eluding me.

I have a single site server with SQL installed to the site server on a seperate logical drive and my configuration manager files on a third logical drive (test environment) all a test domain with SCCM 2007 R3 in mixed mode, IIS 7.5 running on site server, DHCP and DNS on a single DC.

My configuration manager client installations are failing when I attempt to install manually and with 'client push', ccmsetup logs indicated a 404 error when attempting to contact the fallback status point.

I have been looking into this for a couple of days now and the reams of doco available are not pointing me to a solution. The CCM logs on the server are not saying much that is useful.

I know the info I have provided is a little vague, if someone could point out distinctly what to look for and where to look I would appreciate the assistance.

Cheers
Rich

Hi Rich,

I don't think that ccmsetup is failing due to Fallback Status Point,as it not not a mandatory thing..it optional....FSP is used for storing the state messages of client like any error while installing client, communication issues with Managent Point and all..

Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
