I passed the exam from Darwin Sannoy at windowsinstallertraining.com. I have attended three courses on Windows Installer and I think Darin Sannoy's course was the only one of value to me. I have never sat on the Wise ones but I am assuming they have a decent curriculum.

This gave me some good bargaining power a couple years ago when negotiating contract rates. I think there needs to be more certification in the packaging industry because there are too many contractors out there that know a little about packaging but they don't know enough not to be dangerous. Right now I am dealing with several issues caused by inexperienced packagers releasing poor MSI packages. The client saved money up front but they now pay for it as I undo the mess they made.

Read the Exam Study Guide from Altiris...

It will list all parts of the exam that should be known to pass it.
I did the exam from some weeks ago, there are 50 questions some are multiple choice.
No grafical interaction, just aswering questions.

The Installshield courses are quite good as well.

The courseware is very well written if you want to just buy that instead of sitting in on the course. Anyone new to packaging that's using Installshield should at least buy the courseware if they can't go on course.
