WISE Training anyone?
I was wondering if anyone attended a Wise training. I'd like sone details about : wherever it was, the city, the accomodations, the topics of the training, the food, the hotels ... Anything worth mentioning. [:)]
Cheers.

I sent my team to one here in Sydney Australia and was not very impressed with it. For a start it was a very basic course and most of the time was spent explaining how to setup and admin a Wise Package Studio server.
Once they got into the actual packaging part the person in charge of the course became a bit lost and tended to drift off topic and also failed to answer some questions that he should have.
My team got a bit out of it but not enough to justify the price which was around 1800 AUD. Even though this was a Wise course.....it was done by a third party provider which doesnt guarantee quality.
I think its worth shopping around and get a good quality course....perhaps the Wise BlackBelt series if you are in the USA. They post the locations and dates on the Wise Website.

I would suggest attending a course by Darwin Sanoy via http://desktopengineertraining.com/windowsinstallertraining. He puts on a good course to get that beginner to intermediate level skillset (Application Packager track). His course stood out as the most comprehenvice out of any I have attended. I have had to sit through other training before because the client insisted on it and so far I can only say that Darwin's course actually has a well rounded approach for getting people up to speed on MSI technology. Plus he offers an exam and a certification which is not really recognized by the industry as of yet but at least someone is doing something to gauge the basic competence of repackagers out there.
If you are looking for an advanced repackaging course I cannot say that I have found anyone to do something at that level and it would be kind of difficult as once you get past the basics of repackaging things get grey and alot of techniques come down to personal bias.

I have attended an official "Repackaging with Wise Products" course in Holland, 3 years ago.
Some trainer from Wise did a 5 day trainingcourse, and i must say it was really helpful, she gave some really neat tips about Headache apps. such as Visio2000 e.a.
All in all, it was worth it.
You should however have some hand-on experience prior to attending this course, so you know what the teacher's talking'bout.

I went on one in London for a 4 day course, and found it very helpful. The guy in charge, knew his stuff and answered all questions that was fired at him. I did have proir experience, as inert said so that did help.
Afterwards the guy gave us his email address and said we could email him any problems we had. I did do this and he helped me out. But by the time he replied I figured it out anyway. [:D]
