Note
To just save bandwith for first time installation, instead of the regular web installer you may download from http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1 (ChromeStandaloneSetup.exe).

By default Chrome installs to the current user profile only.
If your users do not have local admin rights and you want to protect the Chrome binaries by installing for all users of a machine, use the parameter --system-level
You should check http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/search/label/Stable%20updates for updates often.
System level installation did not work with ChromeStandaloneSetup.exe for me, but you can find direct a direct link to the required chrome_installer.exe at http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=73a1f11be5eb4dca&hl=en

For end users, a much easier way to install for all users is the Google Pack (http://pack.google.com/).

Information for repackaging Google Chrome 5.x
This description assumes as result a corporate package, where distribution and update(s) are not included and handled separately.

To make the google Chrome 5.x for all users:

1.
Install Google Chrome normally, by double clicking on the installer; when in the final page
(that asks for Advanced Setup Options & Launching Google Chrome), just close the window.

2.
Copy the 'Application' folder from default Installation directory i.e.
For Windows XP : %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application
For Windows Vista/7 : %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application
to a folder inside 'Program Files' folder, eg: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application

3.
Inside the folder named with %Version#% [i.e. "5.0.375.99" for my case] cut all the files & subdirectories
& move them to the main directory i.e. 'Application' folder, then you may delete the blank %Version#% directory.
Remember the Value of this version for the next step.

4.
Search for this Registry Key through running 'REGEDIT'
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\Clients\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}]
that will have a key i.e. "pv"="x.xx.xxx.xxx", if it doesn't exist, then create it, with the value of version number.

5.
In the next Registry Key, there should be (if not, then create) the path for Chrome Executable, i.e.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\ClientState\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}]
with key, "InstallerSuccessLaunchCmdLine"="C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"

6.
Now, run the executable from its new location, you will see the - Advanced Setup Options & Launch Google Chorme,
i.e. the final setup screen again. Choose your options & launch Chrome, you're done!

Things to remember, User preferences will continue to be per-user in %AppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data.
