Can you add another processor to a virtual K1000?
We have a virtual K1000 setup, but the processor runs really hot at times. We've had to restart the appliance twice now, because we couldn't logon. Would there be any issue to just add another virtual processor?

The tech specs say 4 or more vCPUs, so, you should be able to add more: http://www.kace.com/products/systems-management-appliance/tech-specs
When you say hot, do you mean the server it resides on runs hot or the VM locks up? If it's the latter, try adding a vCPU. If the issue continues, open a support ticket with KACE and have them check it out.

Sorry i meant that the cpu is running high. We changed it from 2 single core to 2 dual cores, but it still runs in the yellow. However, I've been unable to go to the web interface several times now and have had to restart it so I could get in. Any thoughts? - aguynes 10 years ago

You couldn't get in due to the load that the K1000 is running. Hopefully you restarted it instead of power cycling. If you simply shut it off, you risk database damage.
Change it to 4 single cores and test. Change to 4 dual cores if necessary. Add more if you have to. You might consider adding memory as well. I believe the physical systems have 16GB of RAM as a minimum. - jknox 10 years ago
