Emails only working intermittently on V9
HI
we went to version 9 about 2 days ago. Not only are emails being sent when the wind is in the west and it isn't raining (in other words there is no consistent performance of emails against the matrix). I found another message stream and got the Admin guy to check the log file.
This is what he found. Does this mean that there is no mail daemon so there will be no handling of email. What would be the standard recovery for this (e.g. A restart of KACE?). ANy help would be appreciated.

It looks like your Swap partition is full, is like the virtual paging file for Windows.... maybe for some reason the RAM is not enough.... so the OS fills the swap causing a performance issue sometimes that prevents the email sending from working properly.
Use this to get a Size Report, to see if everything fine in terms of main and swap partitions:

Don't discard a configuration or environmental related issue, pull the Email Report and EXIM Log, this audits emails coming in and out:

So in a process of elimination I have found that if I put my email address in the CC field the notification is sent out. Nothing happens when the Owner and Submitter options are ticked. - kiwiblue 5 years ago

Are you using Custom Ticket Rules or something?
The EXIM log will tell you what happened to the emails (or even if the appliance tried to send one and the targeted email) - Channeler 5 years ago
So folks I have spent a whole afternoon trying varying permissions and monitoring the email listener file. The only change that got notified was Close for Submitter. All the others (e.g. Any change or status change ) did not generate an email despite being ticked, Owner did not work at all and CC email worked on somethings. Is there anything obvious that I need to do. I would have thought that if I had the "any change" ticked it would send an email to the appropriate column. Driving me crazy as I cant get a consistent behaviour out of the email matrix
