Install Files do not download to clients at remote site C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\downloads\

When I push a Managed Installation to Remote Site computers via the Replication Share, the Install doesn’t run.

The Install file does download to the replication share\folder; \\Server\Kace\repl2\software\5212, but not to the client C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\downloads\5212.  On the client a folder is created – in this case folder is \5212 but no file is downloaded, and therefore nothing gets installed.

Note:  The install runs perfectly when run directly from the K1000 (not via the Replication Share).

Check the "download path user". There used to be a bug where the password had trouble with special characters. I'm not sure if that is working now.

Comments:
  • Not too long ago I had support confirm that's still true. The replication share folder can't be hidden (i.e. share$) and the password can only contain alphanumeric characters.

  • Handling special characters was added to WIndows agent functionality in the 5.3 GA release. Please contact Support if you're seeing any errant behavior with this. - mdri 12 years ago
