Kbox 1000 slow when updating software assets
I am trying to manually add software licenses along with the purchase orders and Kbox is so slow it is taking forever. Once it finally gets to the asset license screen once I input the information and hit save it literally takes 30-45 seconds or sometimes longer to save. This is happening no matter what browser I am using. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

We have had the K1000 for almost 1 year now. The version we are running is v5.3.47927
Nothing else is running in the background. I do patching at night along with script updates. Inventory runs every 5 hours and our load average is 0.17. The only ticket rules I have running at OTS is if we have a classroom down and then it sends a text message to all the techs. At this rate it is taking me forever to add all of our licenses into the Kbox and unfortunately there is no way to extract them so that I could import them into the Kbox this is a manual process that at this rate is going to take me forever.
You might want to try and upgrade to the latest server, 5.3.53053 and agent 5.3.53177 and see if that offers any improvement. I haven't noticed anything on our KBOX. If that doesn't help you might need to get support on the line or webex to check the backend.

We have the same slowness too. We have gotten KACE to modify our box so the main License Asset page doesn't calculate the installed licenses. To see that data a report is run. That report takes about a half hour to run and brings down the performance of the box so we only run it at night. We are already on the latest released version and every timne we upgrade the server the "fix" has to be re-applied (KACE ticket, tether and fixed by them).

Kace had me update to 5.4 and then apply patches. That didn't work so they did the same thing for us that they did for you and said that this should be fixed in version 5.5. It's a pain to have to run a report because our CIO likes to just look quickly at the data but it's better than waiting 20 minutes for an asset to update. - scarpent 11 years ago
