Where do I find the XML Report Layout field?

I am trying to use the following to customize a report layout.

http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/Customizing-a-Report-Layout-With-Jasper-iReport

I am unable to find the XML Report Layout field that is in Step 3 of the above document.  Does anyone know where that would be at.  I have a K1100 v5.3.53053.

EDIT:  Ok.  So this looks like it is part of "Classic Reports.  I do not see that.  Has that been removed in my version or is there a way to enable that?

You will only have "Classic Reports" if your KBOX was upgraded from a version that had the old reporting engine. I'm not sure why they released the newer reporting engine without a way to customize the layout, I think that was a poor move on their part.

  • Agreed. In particular I'd like to remove the count that always gets displayed when you use Break On Columns in the SQL reports.

From what I understand, the Classic Reports module was only available up to the K1100 and not included in the K1200 and up (although that's just hearsay and I don't have anything to substantiate that).

In the K1000 under reporting -> reports tab simply click the report you want to use.  At the bottom, above the buttons, should be  a large text box labeled Report Layout Field. The contents are what you want to copy.

This is all I see.  How can I expose that field or can I?

  • Sorry to break it to you, but you don't have the Classic Reports module. If you did, there would be a tab named Classic Reports between your Reports and Schedule Reports tabs.

In classic reports make sure "Auto-Generate Layout" is not checked.
